Ambulance 10-12-4A is a 2014 Ford F550/Lifeline 4x4 Type I ambulance that carries ALS medical care equipment, including SMART triage equipment, drugs and medicines, equipment for bleeding control, airway management, immobilization, burn victims, childbirth, and your every day sick calls. Ambulance 10-12-4C is a 2012 International Durastar/Horton Type I ambulance, twin to 10-12-4B. This unit carries BLS medical care equipment and acts as the reserve ambulance, and responds when 10-12-4B is on another emergency call.
Responder 12 is a 2016 Ford Expedition outfitted by Odyssey Specialty Vehicles of New Jersey. This vehicle is used as a first responder vehicle. 10-12-7 is a 2010 Ford F550/KME light rescue used by the agency as a rapid response vehicle. This apparatus does not take the place of the fire department's heavy rescues, but rather assists and can effect a rapid rescue if needed. This rig carries water rescue equipment, a TNT combi-tool, environmental rescue equipment, and some ropes rescue equipment. Thanks to Ben of Brickwater Fire for building her!
10-12-6 is a 2013 Thomas Bus/Sartan Services Medical Ambulance Bus that was acquired and paid for by federal funding. This unit serves as Washington Heights' EMS Major Emergency Response Vehicle, or MERV for short. This apparatus is capable of accommodating 24 stretchered patients or 34 sitting patients and 7 isolated patients. It carries enough SMART equipment to triage 180 patients, immobilization equipment for 20, and 30 "D" oxygen cylinders 10-12-6 is also equipped with a 20KW generator, four 13,500 BTU air conditioners, a 5,000 pound towing capacity, and WiFi with a range of up to 300FT.
