Fleet Maintenance / Reserve Apparatus
The Fleet Services garage is located inside an annex built on the same property to the rear of Station 1. The reserve units are stored in this facility and are checked by Station 1 firefighters daily. The fleet mechanics also work out of this building and are equipped to do everything from minor repairs and preventative maintenance to pump and aerial repairs. There is a fleet mechanic on from 0800-1600, and the on duty mechanic for the evening/night takes Fleet Services 1-12 home.
Fleet Services 1-12
Fleet Services 1-12 is a 2015 Ford F450/Pierce Light Rescue, equipped for use by the Fire Department's Mechanic. This rig carries all sorts of tools for automotive and fire apparatus repair. FS 1-12 serves as the mechanic's take home vehicle so he can respond on call backs during his off hours of work should the need arise.

Engine 4-12
Engine 4-12 is a 1986 Seagrave J-Cab pumper. This rig was bought used from Tampa, Florida and repainted to Washington Heights' color scheme and is used as a spare pumper. Engine 412 has a 1,250 gallon per minute Hale pump and a 500 gallon water tank. This unit is equipped with tools and hose so it can pushed into service without having to move over all of the equipment from a front-line apparatus.
Tower Ladder 1-12
Tower Ladder 1-12 is a 1981 Mack CF/Baker 75FT aerialscope, that acts as a department spare. Little to no modifications have been made to this piece of apparatus since it was bought new in 1981. I would like to thank Nick Warner for his help with the scope' boom, also I would like to thank the NBFD for partial use of the design of the rear of the rig.
