Lenox Special Service District #10
The Lenox Special Service District is the newest of the fire districts in the Town of Willowdale, formed in 2005, the district protects a "Downtown" type area complete with commercial occupancies and residential neighborhoods. Annually, the district responds to 1,000 fire, rescue, EMS, and hazardous materials incidents with 25 active members. As the district continues to grow, so does the need for fire protection. The district is currently exploring options for a used tower ladder, as the response times from Station 1 (Independent Hook n' Ladder Company) have proved to be too long.
Engine 10 is 1992 Pierce Lance Rescue Pumper bought used from Maryland. This engine is equipped with a 1,750 gallon per minute pump, 500 gallons of water, and 40 gallons of Class-A foam. It carries a full set of Hurst extrication equipment, light rescue equipment, the standard engine and truck company equipment, and BLS medical gear.
