Town of Willowdale
The Town of Willowdale was established in 1692. The town is 59 square miles with a population of 21, 391 people (2017 Census). The town has a very vibrant downtown section full of businesses. The town is the bedroom community for the busier town of Washington Heights, and has a very suburban feel to it on the outskirts of town. Willowdale has a major highway running through the Northern section of town, with the Mesomehomic River running East to West through town. The town's fire protection is provided by independent volunteer fire companies, each are funded by their own fundraising efforts and through a stipend paid to them through the town government.
Company 6 - The Strand Volunteer Fire Company
The Strand Volunteer Fire Company was formed in 1945 just after World War II ended by many returning veterans coming home to their families in this quiet beach area. The Strand's two bay station rests in a cul de sac that protects a population of 3000 year round residents and 1500 seasonal residents. Engine 6 is the lone pumper quartered here. The response district is full of two story residential homes, cottages, and boardwalks.

Engine 6
Engine 6 operates a 19809 Mack CF/Pierce Engine-Tanker. This rig carries BLS medical equipment, the standard engine company equipment, and a TNT combi tool with associated cribbing. Engine 6 has 1250 GPM fire pump, 1000 gallon water tank,a and 30 gallons of Class A foam.
Brush 6
Brush 6 is a 2014 Ford F550/Pierce Mini-Pumper with a 300 gallon water tank, a 750 gallon per minute pump, and a 20 gallon Class-A foam cell. This unit carries wildland firefighting equipment, BLS medical gear, and engine company equipment. Brush 6 is responsible for medical first response, wildfire control, and responds second out to all other fire responses. This rig was purchased to take some of the wear and tear off of the Mack CF.
